Welcome to St John's

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will find the information that you are looking for.

We also hope to welcome you in person at St John's for one of our worship services or for one of the many groups and activities we offer. You will be greeted with a warm welcome from supportive friends.

St John's is a friendly, welcoming and vibrant congregation in the beautiful Morayshire town of Forres. We are part of the Diocese of Moray, Ross & Caithness of the Scottish Episcopal Church, a member of the Anglican Communion.

With a long history of worship, St John’s offers a variety of worship opportunities throughout the week. We are an active church with many welcoming, friendly groups.  There is something for everyone from Sunday School and a Youth Group for the young to Book, Gardening and Sewing Groups.  We have a Mothers' Union, Social Committee and other interest groups who all enjoy fellowship in each other’s company.

Opposite the award-winning Grant Park, St John’s is set in its own grounds with far-reaching park and woodland views.  Within a short walk of the town centre St John’s is easily accessible and located on the main road into the heart of the town.

So, if you are visiting the Forres area you will always find a warm welcome.

We are open every day

St John’s is open to the public every day from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm for quiet prayers and reflection.

All are welcome to enjoy the beautiful architecture, windows and murals or to simply sit in a quiet church in its beautiful surroundings.
